Humpback.

Without getting too political, I think we can all agree that we are slowly killing the planet. This knife won’t change the World, but hopefully it will get people to think about the impact our kitchen waste has on the planet.

Waste less to harm less.

The handle for this knife has been made from plastics pulled from the ocean. The majority of packaging waste from a kitchen is plastic, and unfortunately, a lot of it ends up in our oceans - choking our marine life.

The blade has been made from 78% recycled steel from the worlds most ecologically sound steel mill. I then hand grind and perform all heat treatments in-house at my studio which is powered 100% by green energy.

Making a splash.

This may be a statement piece, but it is still a serious knife for serious cooks. The hand ground 8” stainless blade has been hardened to 61HRC and sharpened on a japanese water stone. The angles on the compressed waste plastic handle provide a variety of comfortable handling positions and they are paired with an ocean blue perspex coloured liner.

The blade is a classic western style and has decorative file work along it’s rounded spine - perfectly complimenting the blade tattoo. The steel has been hand rubbed to a mirror finish and has a height of 2” at the heel. The whale and calf have been engraved onto each side of the blade complimenting the beautiful semi-opaque handle.

The message is simple, waste less and save our marine life.
